I was lost and confused. I thought i'd never find a solution,
but GOD said: "I will direct your steps". (Proverbs 3:5)

Don’t Quit

September 18, 2008

“Don’t Quit” - A Poem of Fitness, Fat-Loss and LIFE!

- by Joey Atlas, The Woman’s Trainer

Don’t Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will…
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill…
When the funds are low, and debts are high,
and you want to smile but you have to sigh…
When care is pressing you down a bit,
rest if you must, but don’t quit…

Life is strange with its twists and turns,
as everyone of us sometimes learns,
and may a failure turns about…
When he might have won had he stuck it out…
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow,
you may succeed with another blow…

Success is failure turned inside out
- the silver tint of the clouds of doubt…
And you can never tell how close you are
- it may be near when it seems so far…
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit
- its when things seem worse…

♥♥♥ That You Must Not Quit ♥♥♥

A nice motivation piece for me, as again for the nth time… will be trying to loss weigh, good luck to me… waahaha!

Little Faith + Big God = Huge Results by_Rick_Warren

April 30, 2008

[The boy’s father said,] “…  If you can do anything, do it. Have a heart and help us!” Jesus said, “If? There are no ‘ifs’ among believers. Anything can happen.” No sooner were the words out of his mouth than the father cried, “Then I believe. Help me with my doubts!”

- Mark 9:22-24, MSG

Is it possible to be filled with faith and doubt at the same time? Yes!

You can have faith that God wants you to do something and still be scared to death. Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is going ahead and doing what you’re called to do in spite of your fear.

You have to begin with the faith you already have: it may be just a little, but you start there. A beautiful example of this is the story of the man who brought his sick son to Jesus in Mark 9. Jesus looked at the man and said, “I can heal your son. If you will believe, I will heal him.”

The father then makes a classic statement: “Lord, I do believe. Help me overcome my unbelief.”

Have you ever felt like that? “Lord, I have some faith. But I also have some doubts.” This man was filled with faith and doubt, yet despite his honest doubts, he went ahead and asked Jesus for a miracle. And he got his miracle – Jesus healed his son.

No matter how weak or how frail you think your faith is, it’s enough. It’s enough to get you through what you’re facing, and it’s enough to complete the vision God has planted in your heart.

Matthew 17:20 says, “If you have faith as small as the mustard seed… nothing will be impossible to you.” (NIV) That’s not a lot of faith; in fact, it’s just a little faith. But what else does that verse teach? “If you have faith as the mustard seed, you can say to the mountain, ‘Move’ and it will be moved.”

Mustard seed faith moves mountains. Don’t get this reversed. We like to read this verse backward. We want it to say, “If you have faith like a mountain you can move a mustard seed” – as if it takes enormous faith to do a very little task.

God wants you to start with the faith you have, and based on the example of the mustard seed, you don’t need a whole lot of faith to do great things for God. You just need a little.

What does this mean?

  • Everybody has faith – You had faith this morning when you ate your cereal – faith that your spouse didn’t put poison in your granola! You had faith when you sat down in your computer chair – faith that it wouldn’t collapse,

  • Everybody has faith; the difference is what you put your faith in – Sometimes people will say they don’t want to go to church or make a commitment to Christ until they understand it all. Believe in this trustworthy equation: Little faith + Big God = Huge results. You take your little faith, “Lord, I believe! Help me with my unbelief!” You put it in our big God, and then he’ll show you how he works out huge results.

Make the attempt

November 13, 2007

Everything you accomplish, you must first attempt.  So get busy making those attempts.

Procrastination and excuses do not lead to achievement.  The way to make it happen is to make the attempt.

You may very well fall short on the first few attempts.  There may very well be plenty of good reasons to give up.

Even so, keep making the attempt.  Action and persistence will get you everywhere.

How do you get yourself to make the attempt?  By connecting that attempt, and the achievement it will ultimately bring, with a real and meaningful purpose deep within you.

Then you are clear about why you must do what you must do, you'll have no trouble finding the will and the commitment to step boldly forward.  Make the attempt, as often as necessary, and you will surely make it happen. ♥

Choose to imagine

October 24, 2007

The world you imagine is the world you experience. The life you imagine is the life you live.

To bring anything into your life, imagine it is already there. The more completely you imagine it, the more fully it becomes real for you.

All that you are, you once imagined yourself to be. What do you choose to imagine now?

Imagination does its work not by tapping into some supernatural, secret power. Imagination creates your world by simply and naturally directing the enormous creative energy that is your life.

Imagination enables you to fully and authentically experience what is already there. Through the power of your imagination, you choose your own specific reality from a limitless set of possibilities.

Be aware and in touch with what you choose to imagine. For with your imagination, you are choosing the direction of your life. ♥

Power of acceptance

March 14, 2007

When the world seems to be falling down around you, you can choose to fall down with it or you can choose a more positive path.  Acceptance will put you on that positive path.

Fighting against negativity only produces more negativity.  Yet when you accept what is, no matter how terrible and difficult it may be, you put yourself in a position to start changing it for the better.

Acceptance does not mean giving in or giving up.  It means moving on, as in moving on ahead.  There is simply no point in fighting battles which have already been lost, nor is there any point in allowing the loss to continue to slow you down.  The smart strategy is to accept it and then put all your energy toward a positive pursuit.

Acceptance does not mean allowing others to take advantage of you.  It simply means that you look realistically at what has happened and allow yourself to see the positive opportunities that are most certainly there.

Once you accept what is, you are free to move positively forward.  Once you quit fighting, you are free to start achieving. ♥

Awareness beyond thoughts

March 1, 2007

Your thoughts and sensations may often dominate your awareness.  Remember, though, that your awareness exists beyond them.

Even when your thoughts are completely calmed, you are still very much aware.  The thoughts and sensations come and go, and behind them all is your ever-present awareness.

The thoughts you have are the thoughts you choose to hold.  They are not you.

Although you may have been stuck in a negative, destructive thought pattern for years or even for decades, you always have the choice of letting it go.  For ultimately, your thoughts do not create you or define you, and they do not have to hold you hostage.

When you know that you do not have to think, then you are free to think whatever you choose.  When you experience your thoughts and sensations as objects flowing through your awareness, then they no longer have the power to hold you back.

Your mind is an enormously powerful tool that is yours to use as you choose.  Cultivate awareness beyond your thoughts, and put all those thoughts to use in a positive, meaningful way.♥

Set yourself free

November 14, 2006

Let go of the need to support your own ego, and you'll free up an enormous amount of time and energy.  Get beyond the shallow concerns of that ego, and you enable yourself to truly and fully live each moment.

Break free of the petty demands of your ego, and everything you do becomes more genuinely fulfilling.  Leave your ego behind when you go out into the world, and your relationships will flourish like never before.

Of the factors that can hinder your progress, your ego is one of the most insidious.  For the more it holds you back, the more it demands of you, and the more it demands of you, the more powerful it becomes.

Yet you have what it takes to break that cycle.  For what it really takes is nothing more than the willingness to leave the limitations of your ego behind.

Choose to focus not on what you can take and hoard from each situation, but rather on what you can give and on the things you can cause to grow.  Decide to expand your focus beyond your own concerns, and you'll greatly expand your influence.

Consider how much more bold, effective, creative and productive you can be when you are beyond the reach of the constant demands of your ego.  Then choose to set yourself free.♥

Make Use

November 2, 2006

No matter what you do, or what you fail to do, the moments of this day will pass at a steady and unrelenting pace.  Today will move right along and there's no way you can stop it or hold on to it.

What you can do, however, is make full use of it.  What you can do is make something of lasting value out of the fleeting moments of this day.

Yes, you could choose to put forth the very minimum effort required to simply make it through the day.  Yet all that will do is take you to tomorrow, where the only thing you'll have to show for it is the need to make it through still another day.

Instead, use this day to grow, to learn, to act and move and build and accomplish.  Rather than seeking to merely make it through, choose to truly make it count for something great.  Time is already moving steadily ahead. Make the decision, right now, to move ahead with it.

Make full and joyous use of the unique moment in time where you now find yourself.  You've been given the valuable gift of this day, so step forward and claim its special treasures.♥

Secrets you already know

October 26, 2006

Some of life's most valuable secrets are the ones you already know.  They're the secrets you often choose to hide from yourself, or simply forget to think about.

As you go through life's ups and downs, there is wisdom you possess that can help you greatly, and yet often you ignore it.  It's all too easy to focus on the outer situation, and that can keep you from remembering who you truly are inside.

Inside you is a potent and compelling purpose.  When you live true to that purpose, it can bring power and effectiveness to all that you do.

There are so many times when the confusion and urgency of the world swirls around you, and nothing seems to make sense.  At such times, direct your focus toward the real and abiding purpose that is essential to who you are.

Keep yourself grounded in what really matters, and listen to the valuable secrets that your own considerable wisdom has to tell you.  Remind yourself that you can rise above the turmoil, and that you can use the energy of the moment to advance the positive purpose that lives deep within you.

Your wisdom increases with every experience, and has been doing so for a very long time.  Remember often to tap into its enormous positive power.♥
